Library Resources

Your search for references should begin at the TAMU Library Home Page. This page offers a myriad of useful research tools but there are 3 that will be the most important for this class.

E-Journals
Index/Database
LibCat (upper left hand corner)

The first thing to do when locating journal articles in the field of Agriculture and Life Sciences is to search a database. Enter one of the database names listed below and access one of the databases. Then do a key word search on your topic.

Databases suggested for this class are:

Agricola
CAB Abstracts
Web of Science

Some of the journals you will find will be accessible online. Once you find your references in one of the databases, return to the Library Home Page and search the E-Journals selection to determine if the citation you found in the database is online. If it is, print out the pdf. If not...you will have to use eDocs. eDocs is possibly the best service you will be offered as a student at this university. eDocs is a service that allows you to enter citation information of any source you need then they will find it and pdf it and email it to you. It makes writing a paper and doing research much easier. At the eDocs login screen, follow the instructions and order up to 10 articles a day!
